About Mimi'S

Hi! My name is Kim Walker—though most know me as Mimi—and I am the proud owner and director of Mimi’s. I’d love to share the heart behind Mimi’s Creative Kids and what we hope it becomes for every child and family who walks through our doors.

I truly believe it takes a village to raise children, especially in today’s world. You’ll often see me use the word “we” when I talk about Mimi’s, and that’s because this dream is shared by an incredible team. I have been very intentional in bringing together individuals who love children deeply and believe in this mission just as much as I do. Together, we strive every day to create a place that feels safe, nurturing, and full of joy.

Mimi’s Creative Kids was never meant to be just another daycare. It was created to be a place where children are free to explore, create, and grow into who they are meant to be. Our purpose is to provide a high-quality preschool experience in an adventurous, creative, and accepting environment—one where each child is encouraged to embrace their individuality, build confidence, and develop a genuine respect and kindness toward others.

We want every child in our care to grow under thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance—not only academically, but emotionally and creatively as well. We believe that when children feel fully supported, encouraged, and loved, they develop into confident, positive, and capable individuals.

We also believe that families are an essential part of this journey. We welcome parents to share ideas, be involved, and spend meaningful time in the classroom whenever possible. The connection between home and school is something we truly value.

At Mimi’s, we approach discipline with care and intention. Our goal is always to guide and teach, helping children understand their choices while protecting their self-worth. We believe in building children up, not tearing them down.

Above all, we believe Mimi’s Creative Kids should feel like a second home—a place where children are excited to come each day, where they feel safe, loved, and valued. And just as importantly, a place where parents feel peace of mind, knowing their child is not only cared for, but truly cherished.

It is an honor to be trusted with your little ones, and we hope that when you think of Mimi’s, you think of family.
